"It's that bracing spirit of art anarchy that makes the on-and-near St. Claude Avenue art scene the spot to watch in 2008."

"I've told anyone who'll listen that, in many respects it was the most satisfying exhibition I've ever had. Primarily, I think, because of the people who attended. Not at all snooty and pretentious, like many art patrons (Like here in Atlanta f'rinstance). And not superficial dorks cruising from gallery to gallery in search of cheap white wine, but really not interested in the art (Like a crowd I had in Philly a couple of years ago.). I dunno...the people who showed up in NOLA were more straightforward and appreciative. Maybe because of the burgeoning art district you guys are developing there. Or maybe because of the nature of the unfeigned eccentricity of the New Orleans resident.

Thanks again. Let's continue this relationship.

Holger Lang
Toast & Champagne

when we create and then enter spaces to celebrate and worship
we sometimes forget that our spiritual procession is allowing us
to explore a hidden garden, surrounded by a wall of skin
we boldly enter flesh and blood and chase the lions and dragons
the demons and gods, to control the world within
once we lost our fear we will be able to ride the beasts
and to dance with the shapeshifting devils

Holger Lang is an artist and filmmaker from Austria. He is working in interdisciplinary fields and enjoys the idea of cross-country investigations. The twilight between abstract and narrative structures and between found and performed actions is frequently contained in his work.

Laura Zuspan
Exoastroalienology

Exoastroalienology is an exhibition of new watercolor and ink paintings by Laura Zuspan, a New York City based interdisciplinary artist. These paintings explore the symbolism of extraterrestrials and the urban myth's that surround them.

Many of Laura Zuspan's works involve the psychological realms of fantasy with a humorous touch of playfulness. In this exhibition, Zuspan illustrates her awe of the unknown in depictions of alien activity and their imagined "earthly" intervention's, be they friendly or disturbing. Through this work, Zuspan gestures at the importance of universal/global collective intelligence.

GOOD CHILDREN CARNIVAL CLUB
(504) 942-8500

The Goodchildren Carnival Club is pleased to announce its 2 nd Annual Easter Parade , taking place on Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. The theme is "Agents of Change.” The name of the club is taken from the old name for St. Claude, which was Goodchildren (Bons Enfants).

Special honorees, our Agents of Change, will include the Marianites of Holy Angels, David & Roselyn, and the Renaissance Project, among others.

The parade route is St. Claude Avenue, from Poland Avenue to Elysian Fields. Leading the parade musically will be the Goodchildren Band.

Parading groups include the Goodchildren, the Baby Dolls (in memory of Anoinette K-Doe), the Krewe do Craft, the Fringe Festival, the Lagomorphs, the Strollers, Upper 9 Famers Market, the Guardian Angels, the Krewe of Pirates, the Mojo Experience, NOLA Rising, Buncarchy, SCADNOLA, and more.

The Goodchildren will once again present their signature throws of decorated dolls; look for   inventive throws from all the krewes.

Following the parade, the St. Roch Tavern will host an after-party with yummy crawfish from Shaggy's, and live music by The Thunderheads (from Nashville), the Goodchildren Band, and the legendary JD Hill.
